The web pages following this one are pages from the log of the S/V
Lazando la Brisa. They will be listed in the margin to the left in
chronological order, with the most recent at the top. I won't be showing
all of the trips or events since the many run-of-the-mill day cruises and "cocktail"
cruises around San Francisco Bay, or Discovery Bay really don't merit that much attention.
I mean, they're fun, but 'been there, done that' - once is enough.
At any rate, you'll find me mentioning that onboard with me were certain
people as crew. Now I've forgotten what the supposed distinction
was for saying that they were crew, and not guests. But I like how Beard & McKie
in their book: sailing: A Sailor's Dictionary, define what
crew are:
"Heavy, stationary objects used on shipboard to hold down corners
of charts, anchor cushions in place, and dampen sudden movements of the boom."
