As you may already know, I (Ed) went through a divorce from my third wife, Donna. When we separated, I moved aboard my sailboat the s/v Lazando la Brisa to live until the divorce was final. That was February 1999, and the proceedings dragged on until the first part of 2006. Approximately six months following the separation, I became reacquainted with my first wife, Dorothy. Dorothy is the mother of our son, Carl. You can read more about us by clicking on the link, The Sailors to the left. In November of 2003 the Judge in my divorce granted a 'severance of status' from Donna. Shortly thereafter, Dorothy and I remarried. You can read about The Wedding here. In January of 2000, I lost Lazando la Brisa (see The Wreck). The insurance company paid in full, as it is believed that the U.S. Coast Guard was responsible for not properly marking an underwater hazard. In September 2000, Dorothy and I located a replacement boat, the s/v Dakota. It is a Hunter Passage 42. It's a great boat with lots of neat features. You can read about it in The Yachts section of this web site. This site is hopefully, going to be constantly changing. As time goes on, I will fill the pages with photos and narrative about Dorothy and I, and about our activities and our dreams. We hope one day to begin cruising on our yacht. When the cruising begins, we will be posting notes, photos, and stories about our adventures on this web site. In that way, friends and relatives can keep track of us as we travel. This is very much like the mimeographed (boy does that date me??), or rather, Xeroxed letter I received from my aunt every Christmas telling me what happened with her and her family throughout the previous year. By the way. A photo of s/v Dakota was in the June 2001 issue of Latitude 38! My friend Jim Jardine, my son Carl and I were sailing up Raccoon Strait on May 5, 2001, and a Latitude 38 photo boat got a picture of us "lookin' good"! Its on page 148. Or, you can see it here: Looking Good!. As you go through this site you will find links to other pages in the tops, or upper left hand corners of each page.
